Welcome! We’re Mark Henninger and Danya Henninger, and we founded Imagic Digital in 1997.

Our expertise lies in crafting words and images using the latest tech. Mark is especially good at visuals and social media, and skilled at leveraging AI tools in creative ways. Danya focuses on translating complex ideas into compelling layouts and coverage plans that get the message to the right audiences at just the right moment.

We’re conversant in luxury commercial markets and are adept at navigating the logistics of media, thanks to in-house and contract roles at specialty magazines, local news startups, traditional newspapers and public media.

Over two decades, our firm evolved as technology progressed. We’ve worked closely with tourism agencies, boutique and international hotel brands, high-end golf clubs, custom yacht makers, architects, real estate developers, home designers, construction companies, civil engineering firms, restaurants and other businesses both large and small.

The through-line? Telling your story with color and style.

Our History

Imagic Digital is a joint venture of Mark and Danya Henninger (yes, we’re married!). When we founded our firm in 1997, we were self-taught digital explorers with a background in analog photography.

We met in the mid-90s in Providence, RI. At the time, Mark’s loft had a full-color chemical darkroom right next to a computer running Photoshop 1.0. From then on, we were hooked. We used to stay up all night teaching ourselves how to use imaging software — and we maintain a fierce love and respect for these powerful tools that can represent and help re-imagine the world around us.

As pioneers in digital creative services, our client base grew quickly. We decided to concentrate on the hospitality industry, and began providing photos, videos and interactive presentations to golf clubs, hotels, luxury homes, yacht builders and others around the U.S. and throughout North America. When imagery became more commoditized in the 2010s, our focus shifted to expert storytelling and technology consulting.

Mark got into media as editor of AVS Forum, a global site focused on audio-visual equipment and home theater, and also did freelance consulting, providing insights to top TV, projector and audio equipment manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, LG, and Amazon. He helped build Home Theater Review, then became editor at well-known A/V outfits Sound & Vision and Stereophile, where he oversees the digital transformation of a monthly print magazine.

Danya got into journalism as a food and beer writer, with bylines in publications both local and national. She oversaw both editorial and revenue at Billy Penn, a news startup acquired by public media org WHYY, where she developed a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of local communities and the importance of involving government, institutional, nonprofit and corporate leaders. As editorial director at Technical.ly, she runs a multilocal news organization covering entrepreneurship, AI, and jobs of the future at emerging tech hubs around the US.

Both Mark and Danya are consultants for OKhuman, a Silicon Valley startup building the human stamp for writing in our mixed AI-writing world.

We pride ourselves on being early adopters and mastering the latest imaging technologies.
